This unusual Karatchoph Kazak rug shows an ivory border with floating bug pattern tonally en suite with the octagonal medallion and the four corner boxes with merged stars.In the medallion are three stacked and nested rectangles along with long hooks,a date and stylized stars.In the red field are several additional rectangles,a human figure and animals.Along the outer edge of the field is a keyhole reciprocal surrounding the red ground.The outer minor border displays reciprocal triangles and there are red and yellow and red and ivory narrow barber pole lines in the border system.The size is square,the pile is high and the wool is soft.All the colors are from natural sources.The piece is in good pile and condition.
