Eagle,Chelaberd or Sunburst Kazak rug from Armenia, southwest Caucasus

The tomato red ground displays two characteristic ample sunburst medallions detailed in ivory,green,yellow,red and navy.At the center of each medallion is an eight point ivory and navy geometric floral motif.At each end of the field is a yellow comb engaging green,red and navy lappets.Also in the field are tiny rosettes,clovers,octagons and an animal.The ivory main border has the iconic doubly connected star pattern and is flanked by blue and black reciprocal minor borders.There are four broadly drawn barber pole lines present.All the colors are from natural sources.The wool is soft and the weave is fine.The condition of this attractive rug is good.
