Afshar rug from south east Persia (Iran)

This attractive rug has an excellent silky wool and a soft, meaty handle. The unusual design reminds us of east Turkestan rugs. The madder main border is well decorated and is flanked by red and blue minor guards. The harmony of the borders with the field is quite noticeable. It is a classy rug with an ivory background and interesting elements. The leaves in between the repeat medallions give a very elegant look to the rug.All the colors are from natural sources. The rug is in very good condition with thick and high pile.
THROUGH OUR EFFORTS TO PROVIDE THE HIGHEST QUALITY IMAGES, WE USE VERY HIGH RESOLUTION PHOTOS. IF YOU CANNOT SEE THE WHOLE RUG PLEASE TRY REFRESHING THE PAGE – SOME LONG RUGS MAY NOT FIT WITHOUT ZOOMING.
