This unusual format small Yagcibedir scatter employs a deep red field backgrounded with an s,z and a hooked pattern and presenting a stepped medallion with an ivory outline and similar hooked contents.There are six ivory ram’s horn motifs and a central star-in-octagon element.The exceptionally wide deep burnt orange border shows a modular design of four radiating leaves,detailed in aubergine,ivory,red and navy.There are two ivory secondary borders with small diamond patterns,and an additional bitonal hooked band at the top end of the pile.There are extremely broad flatwoven ends striped in red,navy and blue with small pile ornaments in the top panel.Unusually the selvedges imaginatively differ side to side.The handle is pliable,the wool is soft and the weave is fine.All the colors are from natural and vegetable sources.The rug is in good condition.
