Talish rug from southern Caucasus

This amazing condition Talish long rug shows an absolutely classic design centered on a totally empty navy field edged by a yellow reciprocal arrowhead pattern.Equally definitive main border employs knot rosettes alternating with four “dice” on a natural undyed ivory ground.The red minor borders employ floating polychrome dice motifs.The outermost black and blue border is in a keyhole reciprocal pattern.There are several red and blue solid lines in the border system.At the bottom end is a color change from blue to red in the final line,an irregularity sought after by connoisseurs.All the colors are from natural sources.The wool is soft and the pile is high.
