Of unusually large format,this ivory ground Shirvan prayer rug is decorated by a classic diagonal lattice enclosing a wide variety of colorful plants and flowers.The madder red diagonal "S" border is totally in synch with the field and is flanked by minor guards.Animals,combs and other interesting devices are scattered about in the ivory central panel,and the niche floats free of the borders.All the colors are from natural sources.The rug is in good condition.
