The navy blue field employs an interesting variant on the classic Perepedil ram’s horn pattern. Two of the ram’s horn pairs are in ivory whereas the others are in blue and red. There are secondary boxes in ivory and red;colorful flame motifs;and projecting mosaic pattern side columns. There are eight pairs of bird like ivory dragons in the field as well as rosettes,a central line of snowflake motifs, stars, and lazy S’s.The ivory main border features an ivory Kufic knot and bracket pattern. There are two minor borders with segmented striped modules;there is a red ground, star patterned, tertiary border;an innermost ivory zig zag band and an outermost bitonal keyhole surround. There are several barber pole lines in the border system. At each end is a broad tan macrame warp finish. The handle is moderately flexible. All the colors are from natural sources. The piece is in good condition.
