The five ivory medallions are connected to form a single integral pole medallion.The blue surrounding field has paired secondary devices.The drawing here is rigorous and precise.There are no folky elements.This exactitude is only ameliorated by the multicolor fringe inside the inner border,transitioning the field to the frame.A wine cup and leaf border on white ground is the main surround.The whole effect is one of formality and restraint.The condition is equally exemplary.
