This Kurdish saddlebag face has a full and high quality pile with a broad range of colors including old ivory,deep aubergine,apricot,light green,emerald green,medium blue,red,brown and light blue.The layered central panel begins with a small square within an apricot and green octagon,which in turn is set on a hooked aubergine hexagon,a hooked old ivory panel and finally an apricot field.The very unusual green panel with its stylized colorful flowers sets this piece apart from its counterparts.The apricot main border has a detached rosette pattern and there is an additional outer blue minor stripe with mosaic lozenges.Other borders include an inner barber pole and an outermost apricot,light blue and aubergine line.At each end is a weft wrapped strip in various colors.All the colors are from natural sources.The condition of this charming piece is good.
