Kuba rug from eastern Caucasus,west coast of the Caspian Sea

Size: 5′.5″X3′.6″ (165X107 cm)
This eastern Caucasian scatter rug shows an ascending pattern of flowers,botehs and other geometric elements in an ogival partially serrated leaf lattice,on a dark brown ground.The ivory main border employs a colorful crab pattern.Colors include: green,blue,red,yellow,aubergine and camel.There are two secondary borders with sectionally striped designs as well as inner dark brown border of rosettes and triangles.There are eight red and white and black and yellow barber pole lines in the border system.The sides are blue cotton and continue into the end with soumak bands.Finally at the ends there are wide knotted warp nets.All the colors are from natural sources.The piece is in good pile and condition.
