Kuba prayer rug from Kuba district,eastern Caucasus,west coast of the Caspian Sea.

On a blue field shows a leaf lattice displaying a wide variety of stylized flowers,and the pattern continues unaltered through the spandrels.The ivory wide arch is sharply pointed and displays a small diamond pattern.A smaller version of this pattern decorates the innermost border.The edges of the field are chains of colorful triangles.The ivory main border hosts the classic crab pattern and in a variety of colors including red,blue,rose and green.There are two inner borders with striped rhamboid designs and nine barber pole lines in the border system.At each end is a narrow soumak band followed by a knotted warp net.All the colors are from natural sources.The handle is firm and the condition of this classy piece is good.
