Kuba rug from eastern Caucasus,west coast of the Caspian Sea

Size: 5′.2"x3′.6" (157×107 cm)
The navy field features two columns of geometric palmettes in:red,green,blue and yellow with accents in ivory,camel and navy.One palmette is centered by a color sampler and there are geometric arabesque motifs in between the palmettes.There are tertiary motifs including rosettes,diamonds,crosses and octagons.At the bottom of the field is a fractional red and ivory inner barber pole border while the rest of the field is surrounded by an inner polychrome triangle pattern.The ivory main border shows extremely colorful knots in camel,navy,yellow,rose,red,green,blue,aubergine and black.It is flanked by stripe section minor borders as well as four barber pole and one solid blue lines.At each end is a complex finish:a running dog or wave design red and navy soumak technique line followed by a kilim and terminating in knotted warp net.The wool is soft and beautiful.All the colors are from natural sources.The condition of the piece is good.SOLD
