The town of Kozak,near Bergama,is known for attractive small geometric pieces such as this rustic example.The madder red field is centered by a tall rust hexagon enclosing five connected diamonds in red and green with black and white centers.At each end of the field is a matching re-entrant panel.Nine flying bird like geometric motifs in ivory,green,and light blue on each side flank the center cartouche.The ivory main border has a colorful connected “S” pattern and is flanked by two ribbon pattern minor borders.There are four red and white barber pole lines.The upper flatwoven kilim strip employs three knotted pile talisman ornaments.All the colors are from natural sources.The handle is pliable,the pile is high, and the condition is good.SOLD
