The navy field presents seven fringed palmettes in red,yellow,ivory and green.Hooked elements separate the palmettes.Furthermore,there is a supporting scatter of stars,quincunxes,zigzags and lazy S’s.The main bitonal red and navy reciprocal border shows complex arrowhead formation.Inner borders feature reversing carnations in various colors.There are four tertiary stripes with discrete barred S patterns.There are several solid lines in the border system.At each end is an off white cotton flatweave with a cicim technique line running through.All the colors are from natural sources.The handle is soft and pliable and the weave is tight.The condition of this attractive piece is good.
