Chi Chi rug from Kuba district,eastern Caucasus,west coast of the Caspian Sea

Size: 6′.5″x4′.2″ (196×127 cm)

This iconic Chi Chi rug has a navy field displaying alternating complex octagons and hooked Chi Chi motifs.In addition there are double combs,stylized leaf brackets and other lesser geometric elements.A red keyhole reciprocal band edges the field and is repeated in an outermost border in red and green.The dark brown main border has the classic Chi Chi rosette and diagonal bar pattern.There are two ivory minor borders with colorful stars and two minor borders with V shaped buds.There are ten two tone guard lines in barber pole design and a couple of solid blue lines in the border system.All the colors are from natural sources.The rug is in good condition.
