This attractive Bidjar rug shows a-Spanish-derived textile pattern of rampant lions in oak leaf,pomegranate and strapwork ascending pattern.The lions in yellow and honey face in and out while climbing the strapwork.The red main border displays doubly bent leaves,ragged rosettes and stylized palmettes.Both ivory minor borders show floral meanders.At each end is a red soumak band with ivory weft float pattern.All the colors are from natural sources.The weave is tight and compact.The piece is in good pile and condition.
