Attractive Afshar rug from south east Persia (Iran) with unusual kilim ends
Age: circa 1880
Measurements: 6′.6"x4′.0" (198×122 cm)
The navy field with boteh design is richly colored with light blue cotton highlights.This is a striking Afshar rug with big botehs in the field and four framing borders.It is unusual in that all the borders have more or less the same width.There is no main border.All botehs in the field are outlined in vibrant red thus giving an elegant look to the piece.Both ends have different types of flatwoven finishes.The rug is in very good condition with high pile.
