Akstafa prayer rug from southeast Caucasus

This extremely colorful Akstafa prayer rug displays a navy ground hosting a diamond leaf lattice,which in turn presents a wide variety of diamond shapes,some quartered,some hooked,some which chessboard pattern and some in ivory with central rosettes.The ivory niche is square and is centered by a comb and a string of beads.The arch presents colorful floating X’s.The navy spandrels host pairs of quartered and hooked diamonds.The ivory main border shows chains of colorful arrowheads.The flanking minor keyhole reciprocal borders are in red and blue/red and green.There are several solid lines in the border system.All the colors are from natural sources.The condition of this charming piece is good.
