This unusually drawn Shirvan scatter displays a particularly wide black Kufic main border with rosettes and brackets.The broad field shows offset rows of extremely colorful rising palmettes or birds in shades of red,shades of green,shades of blue,ivory,light brown and several yellows.In addition there are small diamonds and rosettes in the field.The abrashed light red outermost minor border hosts connected blue S’s.Edging the field is a navy sawtooth pattern.At each end is a soumak band technique flatweave followed by a knotted warp net.All the colors are from natural sources.The handle is moderately flexible.The condition of this charming piece is good.SOLD
