This slightly smaller than usual rare Khamseh bird rug shows an abrashed blue to medium blue field setting off dozens of characteristic birds with smaller camels placed in between.Furthermore,there are upright flowers and rosettes decorating the field.Colors include:shades of red,shades of blue,yellow,green,ivory,aubergine and brown.The madder red main border with buds and triangles is the most popular Khamseh border and is flanked by minor borders in an abrashed blue and navy both with simple reversing rosette patterns.There are four dotted narrow lines in the border system.At each end of the rug is a striped diagonal panel in ivory and navy with mini red botehs.The classic south west Persian side cords are original and present.All the colors are from natural sources.The piece is in good condition.
