Milas prayer rug from south west Anatolia,Turkey

Dimensions: 5′.5"x3′.6" (165×107 cm)

Classic red pinched niche is ornamented with three diamond shape motifs beneath an ivory reserve decorated with palmettes.The soft yellow main border has a corresponding palmette pattern in shades of red,light red,green,blue etc.The outer ivory border displays a series of colorful quartered octagons.The colors are clear and all from vegetable sources.The upper red kilim flatweave is intact and there is a shorter kilim at the bottom end.The selvages are original and the condition is generally good.
