Yomud carpet,Turkmen tribes from western Turkmenistan

This Yomud main carpet has six broad bands derived from kilims and are separated by seven ivory scrolling running dog reciprocal secondary stripes.The elems display the flying eagle design.The narrow main border is patterned by alternating facing triangles (around only three sides of the field).In between the main panels and the curled leaf minor stripes are triple narrow border segment including diagonal stripes and S patterns.The colors are from natural sources.The condition of the carpet is very good including the striped kilim ends.Please see number 44 under this category for a similar example.
