Tekke small square rug from western Turkmenistan
Age: circa 1900
Dimensions of the rug: 3′.6″x3′.1″ (107×94 cm) including the kilim ends
Three columns each of five main carpet guls,and minor Chemche Guls are carefully delineated on a rich madder ground.The main border is also adopted from main carpets with octagons enclosing crosses.There are two flanking mosaic pattern guard stripes.The deep elems (skirts) have a burnt apricot and navy flower motifs.At each end of the skirts are narrow ivory amulet patterns and there are wide ivory wool kilims present.All the colors are from natural sources.The condition of this square rug is good.SOLD
