Shirvan runner from eastern Caucasus,west coast of the Caspian Sea

The royal blue field displays nine hooked hexagons forming a central pole medallion detailed in light blue,yellow,red,camel,ivory and dark brown.There is a scatter fill of small quatered lozenges and cruciform devices in the field.The serrated leaf and chalice ivory main border is edged by a small hooked fringe and is flanked by popular multicolor diagonal striped segments.The innermost ivory border has a skeletal connected design and there are four two tone barber pole lines as well as several solid lines in the border system.The wool is soft and velvety.All the colors are from natural sources.The rug is in good condition including the original ends and sides.
