This extremely colorful and cheerful Shirvan rug employs a wide range of geometric elements in the navy field decorated with paired goosenecks and various medallions in an Afshan related design.Furthermore,there are snowflakes,stars,leaves,rosettes,knots and diamonds.The main border shows groups of diagonal stripes in various colors and is flanked by reversing carnation minor borders.There are two red and white barber pole narrow lines and two ivory tertiary borders with colorful bars.A plain blue line surrounds the whole.The selvedges are cotton and the ends are original with narrow flatwoven finishes and knotted warp nets.All the colors are from natural sources.The handle is moderately firm.The condition of this happy piece is good.
