Milas prayer rug from south west Anatolia (Turkey)

The soft red madder subfield displays a pole medallion of two and a half lozenges edged by tiny buds and these buds also surround the field.The niche is pinched by two red lateral triangles.Secondary ornaments in the field include various rosettes,jewelry,botehs and a suspended flower.The ivory spandrels show four columns of abstract carnations.The light yellow main border hosts S bordered discs separated by mostly four squared rosettes.The nearly black inner border features green meander enclosing small leaves while the outer minor shows colorful rosettes.There are three reciprocal zig-zag narrow lines.The red selvedges are intact.The handle is soft and pliable.All the colors are from natural sources.The rug is in good condition.
