Lori Pambak Kazak rug from Armenia,southwest Caucasus

The cardinal red ground displays two large burnt orange and moss green medallions with octagonal red centers and stars.Each octagon is fringed with blue latch hooks,and there is a similar green latch hook wreath surrounding a central nested red,dark blue and ivory hooked element.In addition there are further hooked devices,stars,and octagons.The complex bitonal reciprocal guard stripes,in dark brown and ivory are in Bordjalou style.They surround a royal blue slanted leaf and four arrow squares-patterned main border.There are four red and burnt orange barber pole lines in the border system.At each end is a red kilim finish.All the colors are from natural sources.The wool is soft and the handle is pliable.The rug is in good pile and condition including the original ends and sides.SOLD
