This classic central Anatolian prayer rug displays an empty red field internally edged by tiny buds in various colors.Directly above the stepped arch are navy spandrels with rosettes,and above is a red tulip and merlon panel separated by a red and blue narrow chevron line.The cream main border displays the classic Ladik tulip and rosette pattern.The madder minor borders both present meander and bud pattern.Among the numerous minor borders is an ivory ground stripe with rosettes.In addition there is a blue narrow border with Z motifs and four with reciprocal triangle patterns.At each end is a striped peach and blue flatweave followed by a knotted warp net at the top.All the colors are from natural sources.The selvedges are original and intact.The condition of this beautiful rug is good.
