Rose,ivory,red,yellow,green and blue are distributed in the form of stepped medallions on the dark blue field.In each medallion are radiating small buds.There are rosettes at one end of the field.The tomato red main border employs closely set stepped geometric S’s in rose,green,navy and blue.The flanking minor borders show black and blue keyhole reciprocal repeat and there is an innermost ivory frame with X’s and ragged rosettes.There are eight barber pole lines in the border system.At each end is a soumak strip and a wider knotted warp net.The handle is leathery and firm.The blue three cord selvedges are wrapped but the original is underneath.All the colors are from natural sources.The rug is in good condition.
