Fachralo prayer Kazak rug from southwest Caucasus

Size: 4′.11″x4′.1″ (150×124 cm)

This particularly wide Fachralo prayer Kazak rug features a red field with bug-like palmettes at each end and is centered by a green panel with one end point and a red and ivory central medallion.There are four ivory boxes displaying hooked elements,as well as smaller similar boxes,floating dots and a yellow motif.The ivory main border hosts a floating eight pointed stars in various colors.There are two blue ground minor borders with tiny polychrome crosses.There is a blue inner surround with a red zig zag pattern.There are four barber pole lines in the border system.At one end is a red flatwoven band while at the other is a macrame strip.The madder wool selvedges are intact.All the colors are from natural sources.The handle is moderate and the condition is good.
