Fachralo Kazak rug from Armenia,southwest Caucasus

Measurements: 7′.10″x5′.8″ (239×173 cm)

This somewhat oversized Fachralo Kazak displays two ivory and red eight pointed nested medallions on a deep green field.Across the center are five boxes with dotted details.In addition there are rosettes,stars,diamonds,birds and other interesting devices filling the field.The madder red main border is ornamented with stylized skeletal palmettes in ivory,yellow and dark blue.The significant outer border has a colorful variant on the slanted leaf and chalice design featuring ivory,red,blue and burgundy.There are three blue guard lines with tiny diamonds present.All the colors are from natural sources.The rug has good wool quality and condition.
